Jacob was born on May 1, 1984, at Edwards Air Force Base, in Mojave, California. Raised in the Santa Clarita Valley with his parents and younger brother and sister, Josh and Becca, Jake attended Sulphur Springs Elementary School and joined the Cub Scouts when he was in first grade. Jake remained with the scouting program becoming an Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America, and then continuing as a Boy Scout leader.

After graduating from Canyon High, Jake worked at Oak Tree Gun Club as a range hand and soon decided he wanted to become an officer with the California Highway Patrol.  In preparation, he joined the CHP Explorer’s Program and earned the rank of Sergeant in Post 540.

Jake enjoyed surfing at C Street in Ventura, camping and backpacking all over the beautiful state of California with friends, sport shooting, and getting together for family gatherings.

On November 22, 2003, Jake was involved in an accident while at work. The utility vehicle he was driving went off the road and he died from his injuries.  He touched many people in his 19 years of life. We will always remember Jake for his wonderful smile. He is greatly missed.
